Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year at Birchmount School! We are so excited to have you as part of our Birchmount Bears family! Whether you’re coming back or joining us for the first time, we can’t wait to kick off another amazing year filled with learning, growing, and lots of fun!

PBIS

This is our third year as a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) School, and we’re thrilled to keep building a positive and caring place for all our students. With PBIS, we focus on clear rules and celebrating positive behavior, so everyone feels safe, respected, and ready to shine!

We’ve also put together a family handbook that explains our school’s expectations and practices. When teachers, students, and families all work together, our school becomes an even stronger and happier place! You can check out the family handbook HERE. 

Important Reminder: New Safe Drop Off Procedure

We have a brand-new Safe Drop Off Procedure this year! More details were shared in an email on Tuesday, August 27.

The first days of school are always super busy, and parking is limited. We encourage families to get moving by walking to school or parking on nearby streets if you can. It’s a great way to get some fresh air and help keep traffic smooth around the school.

Staggered Entry for the First Week of School

To help everyone get off to a great start, we’re doing a staggered entry for the first week:

• Grades 1-5: You’ll start on Tuesday, September 3.
• Grades 6-8: You’ll start on Wednesday, September 4.
• Kindergarten: You should have received a special invitation in the mail with your start date!
• All Students: Everyone will be here together on Thursday, September 5!

We kindly ask that you drop your child off on the school ground and allow the Birchmount Staff to support your child’s transition into the school.  The ONLY parents permitted inside the building during the first days are those of our newest Bears, Kindergarten students. 

We can’t wait for an awesome school year packed with new adventures and opportunities for every student. Thank you for being such an important part of our Birchmount family! Together, we’re going to make this the best year yet!
