As we approach the end of the school year, things are starting to get busy around Birchmount School. Please read this email carefully for what is happening this week.
Home and School Meeting
The Home and School is meeting Monday, May 27 at 6:00 PM in room 206. All are welcome. Come and hear how you can help with our major fundraiser, the Birchmount Walk-a-Thon, June 14.
Home and School Pizza Day
Friday, May 31 is our monthly Pizza Day. Pizza will be available for purchase using SchoolCash Online on Monday. Please note that, as always, the sale closes Wednesday at noon. This allows time for our volunteers to organize the ordering and distribution of the pizza.
Grade 8 Visit to HTHS
Our grade 8 students will be walking to HTHS on Thursday, May 30 for the annual Grade 8 Day. Students will participate in a variety of transition activities to better prepare them for high school. A permission slip is required for all students and will be available on SchoolCash Online on Monday.
Grade 8 students are also invited back to HTHS for evening activities, Thursday May 30, from 6:00 PM-8:30 PM. Additional information regarding the evening activities will be shared later this week by HTHS.
Middle School Drama Production
Our middle school drama club has been hard at work preparing their play: “This is Your Brain on Social Media: a Cautionary Tale”. Come join us for a hilarious tongue in cheek commentary on today’s kids and their social media obsession!
Our shows are next Friday and Saturday: May 31st at 6:30PM (Doors open at 6 PM)and
June 1st – 1:00 PM (Doors open at 12:30PM). Tickets are $5 at the door and there will be a canteen available. Cash only.
Volunteer Recognition
We are very grateful for our parent and community volunteers at Birchmount School. We welcome any one who voluteered to join us for our Volunteer Recognition on June 5 at 3PM. If you have volunteered this year, be sure to let us know by emailing Suzanne Steeves, suzanne.steeves@nbed.nb.ca .

Warmer weather is here and so is the sun. Please consider applying sunscreen on your child before they leave for school.
