Can you believe we are in February already? January seemed to go by in a blink. February may be the shortest month of the year but it is jam-packed with lots of learning and special activities.
Black History Month
February is Black History Month where we will be celebrating the incredible achievements and contributions of African Canadians who have shaped our country. The Birchmount staff have some exciting lessons and activities planned to learn more about Black history, culture and their lasting impact. Did you know that February was officially recognized as Black History Month by the Canadian House of Commons in December of 1995? The House of Commons passed that motion unanimously.
