The calendar is about to turn to December, and it is shaping up to be a busy and exciting month at Birchmount. Please find a few important reminders and a special highlight below.

Report Cards – Wednesday, December 3

Report cards will be distributed to students on Wednesday, December 3. Families are encouraged to take time to review them together and celebrate growth, effort, and progress. If questions come up after reviewing the report card, families are encouraged to contact their child’s teacher directly.

Parent-Teacher Interviews – This Week

Parent-Teacher Interviews are happening this week by appointment only. These conversations are an important part of strengthening the home–school partnership and supporting students.

If families have any questions about interview times or scheduling, please don’t hesitate to reach out directly to your child’s teacher.

Reminder: There is no school on Friday, December 5 due to interviews.

9th Annual Birchmount Holiday Gift Mart – A Beloved Tradition! 🎁

One of the most heart-warming events of the year is almost here: our 9th Annual Birchmount Holiday Gift Mart!

Every student at Birchmount will have the opportunity to “shop” for a gift for up to two important grown-ups in their lives. This tradition brings so much joy to students and families—and it only happens because of the generosity of our school community.

We Need Your Help – Almost 1300 Gifts!

To make the Gift Mart possible, we need nearly 1300 gift items. Beginning Wednesday, December 3, families and community members can send in new or gently used items that would make great gifts for adults.

Great donation ideas include:

• home décor
• mugs
• candles
• jewellery (new pierced earrings only, please)
• tools
• new socks
• new mittens
• new hats

Please do not donate:

• food
• toys
• used clothing
• bedding
• VHS tapes (unless you’re donating a time machine)
• Christmas tree decorations
• anything sharp

Volunteers Needed – December 9 & 10

We also need volunteers to help the Gift Mart run smoothly! Support is needed for:

• Setup crew after school on December 9
• Gift wrappers
• Shopping assistants
• Clean-up crew on December 10
