Grade 8 Promotion and Dance

We are looking forward to celebrating our Grade 8 students as they prepare to move on to high school. Our Grade 8 Celebration and Dance will take place on Thursday, June 18. This is a special evening for our Birchmount Bears, and we are excited to mark this important milestone together.

Event Details:

• Student Arrival: Students should arrive at the school between 5:30 and 5:40 p.m. and go directly to the Tech Lab to line up for the procession.
• Guest Arrival: Families and guests may enter the building starting at 5:45 p.m.
• Celebration Ceremony: The ceremony will begin shortly after and typically lasts 60–75 minutes.

Following the ceremony, we will ask students and families to exit the gym so that our volunteers can quickly transform the space for the dance. During this time, many families choose to go outside for photos.

Once everything is ready, students will be invited back into the gym for the dance. Please note that this portion of the evening is for students only—sorry Mom and Dad!

We kindly ask that all students are picked up by 9:00 p.m. so our volunteers can begin tidying up for the night.

Dress:
Students are encouraged to dress “smart but comfortable”—think fancy casual. There is no need to purchase new outfits. We want students to feel confident and at ease.

This is always a joyful and memorable evening, and we are proud to celebrate the hard work and growth of our students during their time at Birchmount School.
