- Happy Thursday Birchmount! This is Mr. Q inviting all past PALS who want to schedule themselves again this year to a meeting Friday at 10:20 in the kitchen. You will not need to sign up again if you’ve already been trained last year and we will be beginning PALS Monday outdoor recesses. PALS stands for Playground Activities Leaders and is not to be confused with Best Buddies, which will start later this month. Thank you and have a great day!
- Girls’ soccer tryouts will take place today after school until 4pm. If you are a girl in grades 5-8 and are interested in playing soccer we would love to see you there. If you have any questions, see Ms. Brown.
- Chess Club will have it’s first info meeting on Day 1 in Room 207. Sign-up for the club is on the bulletin board in the middle school hallway by Trish’s room. Chess club is open to anyone seriously interested in learning and playing chess. It will run on Day 1s over the second recess and lunch time.
- Reminder to last year’s cheer athletes, if you are interested in trying out this year we are holding a pre-tryout session n Tuesday Sept 15th from 3-5. This session is part of alumni tryout process.
- Today is the first practice for grade 3-8 cross country – meet on the basketball court. Don’t forget your permission slips. The next practice is Tuesday, September 15th.
- Music Announcements!
- This announcement is for students in grades 3-8 who wish to join a group like rockband, concert band and choir! Please sign up on the bulletin board outside of the music room. There will be interest meetings next week, so stay tuned!
- Are you hoping to play a brass or woodwind instrument but have not yet tried? Students in grades 5 and up are invited to the district playing event called “Squeak and Squawk!” This takes place next week. See Ms. Hunter for details.
