• Since Mrs. Sears is at District PL tomorrow – her Book Club winners for this week will be announced today! This week’s winners for Mrs. Sears’s Book Club are Emma in Grade 3 Khan, Max in Grade 4 Shaw, and Owen in Grade 5 Brown! Please come and see Mrs. Sears in room 133 at first recess to choose your book.  

Sports Announcements:  

• There will be 7-8 badminton practice today during morning recess. Girls basketball tryouts begin today after school, until 4:30.  
• Reminder: today is the LAST  day to sign-up for intramural ball hockey if you’re interested in playing this year.  

Playground Activity Leaders: 

• PALs, Mr. Q. thanks you for working out a great schedule and, for many of you, giving up your social time to play and lead activities with the K-4 students.  If you have changes in your schedule or need a break, please let Mr. Q. know. 
• Staff, please take time to guide and positively reinforce the work that our PALs are doing for the K-4 students.  They are showing a lot of maturity and responsibility and also growing in their skills.  We are proud of our Birchmount PALs! 

Music Announcements:  

• Choir will rehearse today in the music room during lunch.  All are welcome to join in grades 3 and up. Bring your music, lunches and water!  
• District Concert Band will rehearse today afterschool from 2:40-4:30 in the music room. All in grades 5 and up are welcome to join! 
• Miss Hunter is beginning the “Open Studio Music Group” for any middle school students.  If you would like a chance to practice an instrument independently, this is for you! Each week, the music room will be open during the full lunch hour on Day 2s. Please sign up on the bulletin board outside the music room to take part. There will be 25 spots open and it is first-come, first-serve basis. The first sign-up sheet will be posted TOMORROW!
