Our Woodland Winter Concert is fast approaching- next Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 6pm in the gym.  We wanted to share some updates and important information with you regarding the show.

Concert Dress: Students performing in the show are encouraged to wear clothing that makes them feel confident. Some students may wish to dress in the colours of the animal in their song.  Many students have made animal-themed accessories for the show, which will stay in  their homeroom classes for the evening concert.

Time: The evening show begins at 6pm.  The doors will open at 5:40pm to allow students in the show to go to their homeroom classes (5:40-5:55pm).  It is important students arrive during this time to allow us a prompt start time.

Permission Slip:  K-5 students are involved in the show, and a permission slip has been sent home to all K, 1 and 2 classes, as well as 3 Firlotte, 3 Smith, 4 Vicaire and 5 Reis-Kerr. It is important that this form return to school for Wednesday, January 24, 2024.  It lets us know how many students will be on stage and will also allow us to provide additional requested tickets.

NEW! Additional Concert Time: To make more opportunity for families to attend the concert, we have added an extra public show during the morning (the previously scheduled Dress Rehearsal) at 10am on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. If this timeslot works best for you, please indicate your choice on the Permission Slip. (We will assume that both tickets will be for the morning show if you check “Yes” on the Permission Slip unless otherwise noted.)

Ticketing:  We have adjusted the tickets to two (2) per child/family to not exceed the capacity in the gym.  You can make your donation on School Cash ($2 per person or $5 per family). This money goes directly back into music and art programming at Birchmount!

As we are prioritizing families of students involved in the show, we will not be able to offer tickets at the door at this time.

Extra Tickets: If your child’s form is not returned for Wednesday, or if it indicates they are not attending the evening show, we will re-distribute extra tickets for families who have requested more.

If you have any questions, please connect directly with our music teacher, Ms. Jaime Hunter ( jaime.hunter@nbed.nb.ca )
