Music Announcements:  

• Our Winter Night of the Arts taking place tonight, January 15 at 6pm.  This event celebrates the art and music of all 10 of our middle school classes. Our theme is “Welcome to the 60’s”, in celebration of Birchmount’s 60^th year as a school!  We will display our artwork inspired by the 1960s, and we will perform songs from the 1960s with class rock bands.  Admission is by donation at the door. Bring some cash for the canteen hosted by the Cheerleading Team, too! See you there!  
• If you are a musical busker for Night of the Arts, please see Ms. Hunter in the music room for a short meeting after the announcements.  Get your teacher’s permission first, then we will discuss details for tonight!  

• This week’s winners of Mrs. Sears’s Book Club are Hamza in Grade 3 Khan, Johanna in Grade 4 Vicaire, and Natash in Grade 5 Brown. Please come see Mrs. Sears on MONDAY to pick your book.  
• This is a very important announcement for all grades 7 & 8 students who are interested in taking part in this year’s ski trip. If you have not already picked up your forms, and you want to go skiing, come to Ms. McGinn’s room- room 108 at morning recess to pick up the forms. They are due next Thursday. 
• Chess club today over lunch recess and lunch in Trish’s room. Bring your food with you!!! 
• Cheer team – please see Trish at first recess for cookie delivery. Tonight please arrive at 5:45 if you are helping with Night of the Arts canteen. Also, remember there IS practice tomorrow at 3pm.
