Sports Announcements:  

• Birchmount’s Cheer program is back! Tryouts for our Cheer Squad will be on Friday, Oct 3^rd at 3pm in the gym. Practices will be Fridays from 3-5 pm. Students from Grades 6 to 8 who would like to tryout, can signup on the sheet posted on the “What’s Poppin” bulletin board in the Middle School Hallway.  Deadline to sign up is Wed, Oct 1^st. There is a new sheet. If you signed up on the first sheet, you DO NOT need to sign up again! 
• The Boys’ soccer hosts the Maplehurst Huskies today at 3:30pm. Good luck, Bears!  
• Chess Club will begin on Day 2. It will be held every Day 2 at lunch recess and lunch periods in Trish’s room (205).  This club is only for those serious in playing or learning chess. 
• Birchmount’s GSA will be starting next Day 2 (not today!). It will happen every Day 2 at first recess in Trish’s room (205). Not sure what GSA is? Ask Trish or check out the rainbow board in the middle school hallway. 
• Music Announcements:
  • Rockband has their first rehearsal today at 2:40 in the music room! 
  • Our choirs begin this week:  both for junior and senior singers!  Junior Choir is for any Grade 3-5 students and Senior Choir is for any Grade 6-8 students.  
  • District Band will be at Birchmount School this Thursday at 3:30 sharp. Ask Ms. Hunter for more information!
