Thank you to all the parents who called, emailed, or met in person during this week’s Parent Teacher Interviews. Parental engagement and ongoing communication regarding student progress are both great predictors of academic success. Communication between families and teachers is an ongoing process that does not happen just during Parent Teacher Interviews. Please reach out to your classroom teacher any time you have any questions about your child’s progress at Birchmount School.
Holiday Gift Mart
The annual Holiday Gift Mart is a week away. We are still in need of lots of new or gently used items that students can “purchase” for their guardians. Items can be dropped off at the school or sent in with your child. Each Birchmount student will get the opportunity to shop for up to 2 guardians, which means we need almost 1200 potential gifts to make the event a success. We are also looking for donations of gift bags, tissue paper, gift wrap and tape. The suggested $2.00 donation to participate in the Holiday Gift Mart has been added to School Cash Online. If you are available to volunteer on the day of the Gift Mart, December 18, please reach out directly to the Birchmount Home and School, birchmounthomeandschool@gmail.com .
Holiday Family Fundraiser
Birchmount School is supporting almost 70 families this year with food boxes and gifts. We still need lots of help and have 27 families left to purchase for. You can help by checking out our Amazon Wish List, by making a cash donation using School Cash Online, and by participating in this week’s food drive. Thank you for your generosity.
Bear Hugs and Full Bellies Food Drive
Each year Anglophone East School District participates in a Holiday Food Drive. This year, Birchmount School will be participating but will be collecting food that will go directly to our families. The TLC, our student leadership team, has organized a week-long food drive. Each day has a theme with foods that will help fill food boxes that will be delivered to our families before the break. The class with the most collected items will be treated to a pizza party.
