Visitors to the School
We have noticed many visitors to the school during school hours. We love seeing our parents and guardians but also need to be aware of the number of interruptions that are occurring to student learning. We are respectfully asking that if you need to drop something off for your child, our office staff will meet you at the door and we will call your child to the office between classes, at recess, or at lunch to collect the dropped-off item.
Washroom Incidents
Recently, we have had multiple issues with student toilets being clogged with excessive tissue, lunch items, pencils…. Teachers will be discussing with our students that this does not meet our Bear Necessities expectation of being safe, respectful and responsible in the washroom. We would be grateful if you would reinforce this conversation at home. Partnership between home and school in support of our Positive Behaviour Interventions and Supports (PBIS) initiative is an important element of its success.
Holiday Support for Birchmount Families
This year, Birchmount School is supporting over 60 families for the holiday season by providing gifts and food boxes. This is a very large and extremely important project. If interested, there are many ways that you and your family can help:
- Check out the Operation Elf Amazon Wish List and make direct gift purchases. Items are shipped to us and we take care of the rest.
- Consider giving a cash donation using School Cash Online.
- Donate food items during our food drive week (details to follow closer to the event).
- Donate new or gently used items for our Holiday Gift Mart (details to follow in a separate email).
If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Steeves (Suzanne.steeves@nbed.nb.ca) for additional details.
