Whether you are celebrating Thanksgiving or just enjoying time with family and friends, we hope you are enjoying your long weekend.  There is no school Monday, October 9 to recognize the Thanksgiving Holiday.

School Fundraiser

Our first Birchmount Fundraiser has kicked off!  Catalogues and order forms have gone home with all our Birchmount Bears.  Please check your inboxes for an email that went home on Friday with all the details.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Steeves (Suzanne.steeves@nbed.nb.ca).

Safe Drop Off Zone and School Busses

We are noticing some families passing cars in the safe drop zone.  This area is a NO-PASSING zone.  Please give yourself enough time in the morning and at the end of the day so that you are not feeling rushed and can wait for the cars to move along.  Please use the parking lot at the entrance of the safe drop off zone if you feel you may need more time than a quick drop off or pick up at the end of the day.

We have also noticed cars passing the school busses when they are stopped in front of the school.  It is against the law to pass a school bus when it’s lights are flashing.  We certainly do not want to see anyone get hurt or a member of our school community get a fine from the RCMP.

Home and School News

Mark your calendars and save the date!  The Home and School will be hosting a Movie Night Fundraiser on Friday, October 20.  More details will be communicated from the Home and School.

The Home and School is also hosting its first ever Holiday Craft Mart on November 4, 2023.  If you or someone you know is interested in renting a table for the event, please contact the Home and School,  birchmounthomeandschool@gmail.com They are also seeking donations for a silent auction.  If you, your company, or your employer may be interested in donating, please also reach out.

The Home and School regularly updates the Birchmount Families Facebook site.  Please be sure to follow the page so you do not miss out on any exciting Home and School news.

School CashOnline

We would like to send a great big THANK YOU out to all the Birchmount families who have registered and are using School CashOnline for payments and any school forms.  The District Office has reached out to let us know that the increase in users from Birchmount this year has been amazing!  Thank you!

School CashOnline will continue to be our primary method for collecting any school raised funds and for the completion of school forms, including field trip permission slips.  Please note, that you DO NOT need a credit card to use School CashOnline, nor is there any fee for completing forms.

Families with students in Grade 8 should have received notification that a permission slip for a field trip on Tuesday, October 10, has been added.  If you did not receive that notification, it may mean that you are not registered for School CashOnline. Please check this site for instructions on how to register.

Friday, October 13

There are no classes for students this Friday, October 13, as teaches will be involved in important school improvement planning meetings.
