Truth and Reconciliation Week
This week, the Birchmount School Community will be recognizing Truth and Reconciliation Week. Throughout the week, students will hear and learn about Indigenous history and culture. Our week will wrap up with Orange Shirt Day,an assembly, and a community All Children Matter walk on Friday, September 29, 2023. All Birchmount Bears are encouraged to wear orange shirts on Friday. There is no school on Monday, October 2 so we can recognize Truth and Reconciliation Day.
Meet the Teacher
All Birchmount Families are invited to pop by the school and “travel” to your child’s classrooms and meet their teachers, Thursday, September 28 from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM. This is intended to be a relaxed Meet and Greet. Teachers will not have time to have individual conversations with parents. If you would like to have a conversation with your child’s teacher that may extend beyond a simple meet and greet, we encourage you to reach out with your child’s teacher to schedule dedicated time for a meeting.
PSSC Meeting
Our first PSSC meeting will be held in the gym, immediately following Meet the Teacher, at 6:45 PM on Thursday, September 28. If you are interested in being a member of the Parent School Support Committee for the 2023-2024 school year, please email Ms. Savard at Sandra.savard@nbed.nb.ca.
Pizza Day
The Home and School will be holding their first Pizza Day this Friday, September 29. Pizza is available to be purchased for $3/slice using School Cash OnLine. Purchases are due by 9AM, Thursday, September 28.
